Although the initial authorization was approved by the card issuer, we sometimes require additional verification to ensure that the card is being used by the authorized cardholder. We consider online fraud a risk, and take precautions to protect ourselves and our customers. Before we can continue to process your order, some additional information is required.
To complete the verification process, please confirm the authorization code for this transaction. The authorization code is a numeric or alpha numeric code, consisting of 4 to 8 digits, that is automatically generated by the card issuer bank each time you make a purchase with a credit or debit card. This code is specific to your pending transaction. The authorization code# is not the security code on the card or a password code. The authorization code can only be obtained by calling the card issuer bank via the phone number on the back of the card. Please call the card issuer bank and tell the representative you speak with, that Shopbop is requesting you confirm the transaction authorization number associated with this charge, for cardholder identity verification purposes. Most card issuers will provide this information to the cardholder upon verifying their identity. Please reply to this email or directly to

Unfortunately, not all card banks have access to, or decline to disclose the transaction authorization code. If you are unable provide the authorization code, we will require, via email or fax, a copy of your credit card and photo identification (driver's license, government card, passport etc...). To email your information, please send it as a JPG or PDF attachment in a reply to this email or directly to
[email protected]. You may scan it, or take a picture with a cell phone or digital camera. To fax your information, dial 608-270-3934 and include your order number on the fax copy.
(If sending your identification and credit card) For your security, Shopbop.com strongly recommends that you never send anyone your entire credit card number or date of birth. Before sending the requested information, please block from view any middle 4 digits on your credit card, and the date of birth and ID number on your identification card.
Once your information is received and verified, we will send you an email confirming that your order has begun processing. This type of verification is typically a onetime requirement and will prevent delays with future orders. Please note, the information you send, will be permanently deleted or shredded as required by law.
If we do not receive the requested information, or you do not contact Shopbop within 3 business days from the date of order placement, then your order will be canceled.
