Please let me assure you, you were not charged. Every credit card and debit card is initially authorized (not charged) when an order is placed with Urban Outfitters. This authorization ensures the funds for the order are available. Your credit card or debit card is only charged for an order once the order has left our warehouse.
You may notice a slight difference in the dollar amounts of these authorizations due to sales tax. The confirmation email that you received includes an estimated sales tax. The actual sales tax that you are charged is not determined until your order leaves the warehouse and is based on the shipping address.
We will never charge you for items that have not left our warehouse. Authorizations are temporary and will be removed from your account by your bank. I would encourage you, if you are still concerned, to contact your issuing bank to inquire about their specific hold time for authorizations. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
The charge that you see is only a temporary hold of the money. This charge will reverse within 3-5 business days.
