Vogue Celebrates Its 125th Anniversary With a Limited-Edition Karl Lagerfeld Paris Rose Collection

It’s the “summer of the rose” here at Vogue, where our 125th anniversary celebrations continue in full bloom. In fact, you could say that things are literally coming up roses: what with the introduction of our very own flower, which, in turn, inspired a limited-edition collection of romantic dresses designed in collaboration with the inimitable Karl Lagerfeld. The capsule will be sold exclusively at The Dress Address at Lord & Taylor, where incidentally, the American Beauty rose was chosen as the brand’s emblem in 1943.

Ranging in price from $148 to $198, each of the 10 dresses in the collection gives new meaning to the queen of flowers, as roses are sometimes called, with pretty frocks fit for just about any occasion this season. Invited to a summer lunch? The sleeveless blush dress with a full skirt is cheerful and chic. The off-the-shoulder looks are extraordinarily flattering, and ideal for a rooftop cocktail party, either in cranberry red or midnight and ivory. Paired with sneakers and a straw basket, the printed slips are great for a trip to the farmers’ market. Lagerfeld referenced the early-20th-century women chronicled in Vogue for the tea-length, petal-pink piece with a Vogue rose corsage at the neckline. The resulting look updates the elegant café society aesthetic, offering a taste of la vie en rose for now.
